Kwanza Jones press release

Artist & Visionary Leader, Kwanza Jones, Celebrated at Cardozo School of Law’s 14th Annual BALLSA Celebration for Inspiring Excellence

Kwanza Jones, SUPERCHARGED® CEO and a distinguished alumna of Cardozo School of Law, was honored for her inspirational leadership and unwavering commitment to equity and inclusion at the 14th Annual BALLSA (Black Asian Latino Law Students Association) Celebration held on February 28th.

This year’s celebration was particularly noteworthy as it marked the 25th anniversary of Jones’ graduation from Cardozo School of Law, Class of 1999. The recognition underscores her remarkable influence across the realms of music, business, and philanthropy.

Jones, known for her dynamic leadership and transformative influence, said, “I approach everything I do as part of my legacy and life’s work. Life can be hard, but it can also be beautiful. I constantly ask myself, ‘what does living a life well-lived mean to you?’ I direct my energy and focus to the realization of that answer. It’s what I call, living that #SUPERCHARGEDlife.”

In 2023, SoLa Impact acknowledged Jones’ contributions by honoring her as the Social Impact Honoree during their 2nd Annual Sneaker Ball Gala and Fundraiser, an event held in support of the non-profit affiliate SoLa I CAN Foundation. Together with José E. Feliciano, her partner in business and life, they generously donated $50,000 and provided a $10,000 matching grant, catalyzing an additional $43,000 in fundraising for the SoLa I CAN Foundation.

The duo’s philanthropic efforts were further recognized with the Impact Award from The Independent School Alliance later in 2023.

“I am a catalyst on a mission to help others live better and be better. I’m here to boost humans and humanity through culture, community, and capital,” Jones remarked.

As an artist, Jones leverages her platform to influence culture positively, creating music and content that motivates, empowers, and inspires. She is committed to supporting communities by providing capital and opportunities for growth, as evidenced by her significant contributions to enhancing belonging for the Black community and people of color at Princeton University.

In addition, Jones is the co-founder and CEO of the Kwanza Jones & José E. Feliciano SUPERCHARGED Initiative. It is a philanthropic grantmaking and impact investment organization that invests in both nonprofits and for-profits while focusing on the areas of education, entrepreneurship, equity, and empowerment. Through the initiative, Jones invests intentionally, but not exclusively, in women and people of color.

Through investments, Jones and Feliciano have established Jones•Feliciano, a company with the bold goal of powering possibilities that boost humanity and its future. They collaborate with both for-profit businesses and nonprofit organizations, focusing on creating lasting impact in four key areas: Education, Entrepreneurship, Equity, and Empowerment. “Life is about energy, connection, growth, and action. It’s about boosting each other to be better. It’s about purpose and service. It’s the reason why I do what I do,” said Jones.
